Values

Our Values

Justification by faith through grace

We shall always remain mindful of the fact that we have been saved only through God’s grace and without that justifying grace we remain helpless sinners.

Respect

In our private and church lives we will recognize everybody as created in the image of God and treat them with respect irrespective of their social status or official standing in the church.

Love

Our relationship with each other will be characterized by love, compassion, care, empathy, generosity and humanity.

Discipline

In the face of trouble and diversity we shall be brave, disciplined, steadfast, tolerant and enduring towards the will of God and against all challenges and temptations to do anything to the contrary.

Integrity

We will exercise the highest level of integrity, honesty and faithfulness in the way we conduct our private and church business, remaining humble and obedient to God at all times.

Obedience

We will remain forever obedient to God. The greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart and strength. But implicit in that love is obedience. Genuine love for God works out in strict obedience to God.

Servant hood

When we give Jesus Christ His rightful place as Lord of our lives, His lordship will be expressed in the way we serve others. We will also demonstrate love for God, Our love for God will be expressed in our love for others – “for even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many”.

Justice

We will respect the perfection of God’s nature, whereby he is infinitely righteous in himself and in all he does, the righteousness of the divine nature exercised in his moral government. We also acknowledge that God imposes righteous laws on his creatures and executes them righteously. Justice for us is therefore not an optional product of his will, but an unchangeable principle of his very nature.

Compassion and Commitment

Midrand Parish will be diligent in carrying out its task with compassion and commitment, in obedience to the will of the Lord, respecting the human dignity of all.

Accountability

We will acknowledge and assume responsibility for actions, decisions, and policies, including the administration, governance, and implementation within our mandate and encompassing the obligation to report, explain and be answerable to the people we serve.
